Eden and Youth
We have a heart for youth. Last September we launched the first Eden project outside Manchester. Started ten years ago, Eden is a modern missionary movement that recruits and trains young people to live radically for Jesus by leaving often comfortable settings and moving to live and work in areas of the country that are close to God's passionate heart for the poor, but that are often marginalised and forgotten by the rest of society.
Eden projects work with local Churches and as we have a passion to see youth encouraged and fulfilled. We see youth as being part of the answer and not the problem for estates such as ours. Innovative youth and community work is central to our vision.
Eden teams are lead by a paid worker Team Leader who co-ordinates the work and manages the team. We have just appointed an our Eden team Leader, Jordan Biltawi. If you want more details of Eden or want to network with Jordan his address is jordanbiltawi@yahoo.comand you can Facebook him to see how mad he is!!
At present the Vine Youth Project runs a youth club on Friday evenings from 7-9pm. Anyone from age 11-19 years are is welcome. There's an Internet Café, Pool, Football, Games, Tuck shop, trips and regular activities that are suggested BY youth FOR youth. Our youth and community worker, Simon Allison, heads up this project and for more details you can contact him on: 07908 116199 simon_allison@yahoo.co.uk.
We also have youth cell groups (church for young people) fun together, trips together, Eden Partnerships - camping trips, conferences, etc. Do get in touch with Simon or Jordan to find out more.
